The ASEAN Women's Circle of Jakarta (AWC) visited SD Cendrawasih II in Jakarta Selatan. The AWC ladies were warmly welcomed by Ibu Sumadi Brotodiningrat.
Mrs. Sabai Win, president of the AWC and spouse of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to ASEAN, delivered an introductory speech to the students, explaining to them the intent of the visit, which was to share with the school children about the various ASEAN Member States, most notably about culture.
The AWC delegation comprised of Mrs. Kayo Suzuki-Tan, spouse of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Singapore to ASEAN, Mrs. Vo Thi Hien, spouse of the Permanent Representative of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to ASEAN, Mrs. Mugiati Pramono, spouse of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Indonesia to ASEAN, as well as representatives from Brunei and Malaysia.
The school children displayed great enthusiasm and showed the AWC ladies their ability to answer questions posed by the ladies. Towards the end of the visit, the school's marching band gave a performance, with the students showcasing their musical talents.
